Musical Director of
the Toulon and Var Orchestra, creator of the Mare Nostrum
Orchestra, Henri Gallois is one of the top contemporary
conductors. Performances include tours with Rundfunk Sinfonie
Orchester Saarbrücken, Lodz Filharmonie, Orchestre du CNSM de
Paris...
Many of his records were awarded:
- Gounod Philemon et Baucis International Great Prize of the
Charles Cros Academy Gold Diapason
- Meyerbeer Les Huguenots complete
- Concerts in Live with the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra at
Theatre de l’Archevêché in Aix en Provence.
National TV (BRT Broadcast, RTBF...) and radio (France Musique,
BBC...) broadcasted his shows
From Bach to Britten, he uses a wide array of music, from the
symphonic to the Lyrical repertoire, on various international
stages: Genève, Saarbrück, Palermo, Wexford Festival, Nagoya,
Beyrouth, Damascus, Rabat...
as well as in Eastern European countries such as Romania,
Poland... conducting national orchestras.
Henri Gallois is strongly committed to educational programs that
not only bring young audiences into contact with music but also
allow them to participate in its creation. While touring, he
takes time whenever possible to conduct master classes as well
as more informal programs for students-musicians.
French born in Algeria, conductor Henri Gallois is widely open
on World cultures and philosophies. He is winner of the Young
Conductors Besançon International Competition in 1969 and The
French Ministery of Culture has awarded him a State Premium for
the quality of his work with the Opera du Nord Orchestra in
1981. Gallois conducted many famous orchestras (Dublin
Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre
Philharmonique de la RTBF Bruxelles...) and worked with world
famous singer such as Montserrat CABALLE.
